Like many great ideas, 4NP has been years in the making. What began as a bold vision—an NP-owned and NP-led practice—evolved through a steep learning curve, innovation, and resilience. Along the way, I was often approached by fellow Nurse Practitioners asking, “How did you do it?”

In the early days, I responded with casual coffee chats, happy to share insights and lessons learned. But as our patient base grew and our team expanded, it became clear we needed a more structured, scalable way to support other NPs on their journeys.

Today, that support is delivered by a multidisciplinary team who have been with me from the beginning. In addition to their lived experience building 4NP, they bring extensive expertise in marketing, business development, innovation, and finance. Together, we offer a unique blend of clinical understanding and commercial know-how—because we’ve done it ourselves.

We’ve seen a growing wave of NPs stepping into leadership and entrepreneurship, seeking to make a deeper impact on health outcomes in Aotearoa. While there are resources out there, few offer mentoring that truly reflects the NP experience across the full business lifecycle in the healthcare sector.
